2007 July Business Mixer After the most recent business mixer in Redwood Shores held at the Yeah! Bar and Chinese cuisine, it's still clear why OCA-hosted mixers is the definite place to be when it comes to networking, meeting new people and just about everything in between. From the first step taken into the restaurant, a sea of smiles welcomes one with hospitality. More than 20 people were making their way to this cuisine in hopes for introducing the company they work for and manage. The number of possibilities here are endless where doors could open for careers just with the presence of a new acquaintance. Either attending as a new or old face to the OCA business mixer, many guests still happened to leave in high spirits, wanting to come back for more.
As the event continued, everyone settled and found a place to chat and mingle. Chilled drinks were served at the bar and delicious appetizers were ordered to the table. This gave visitors a more pleasurable atmosphere and away from the stress of being at work. Gorgeous pictures were taken of everyone who attended the mixer courtesy of OCA’s very own photographer, Frank Jang. The goals of OCA that day were to increase the number of members in the San Mateo chapter and to express concerns for voting this year. The interns managed to get some people to register to vote on the spot. The benefit of joining the San Mateo chapter is to be able to play an important role in the Organization of Chinese Americans. Any effort in helping was greatly appreciated by the board and members.
To cap the night off was the distribution of raffle tickets and prizes to those who won. Everyone who entered the raffle gambled their luck at walking away with a fabulous prize. Winners of the raffle went home with a gift certificate to a nice restaurant courtesy of OCA. The prizes were handed out by OCA's respected Dr. Alden Soohoo. He, along with everyone from OCA, closed the night by thanking everyone for coming out and getting involved with the San Mateo chapter.
