WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR LEADERSHIP AND PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS?

The San Mateo County Chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans is accepting applications for its premier “Speak and Lead with Pride” program, a hands-on course designed to teach leadership and the art of public speaking to students who have not had any previous training, but want to enter a career that might require such skills.  This course looks great on college and scholarship applications!  After completion of the 6-week course, participants will carry much greater confidence as a public speaker.  The course concludes with a competition for a $500 cash prize.

When: Every Saturday, 10:00 AM - Noon from February 11, 2012 through March 24, 2012

Where: Foster City Recreation Center
Cost: Free

Due to the nature of the course, space is limited. Applicants are high school Asian-American students who must commit to attend all six Saturdays plus a final speech competition on a weekday evening following the end of the program [temporarily, March 27 or 28, 2012]. Applicants must submit a recommendation from her/his school counselor or teacher.
