Speak and Lead with Pride

Improve your public speaking and leadership skills today!

The San Mateo County Chapter of OCA is now accepting applications for its premier Speak and Lead with Pride program for the 2020 year! This is a hands-on course designed to teach the art of public speaking and leadership skills to high school students. Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will gain remarkable confidence in their public speaking and leadership abilities. The course concludes with a recognition ceremony and speech contest for a $500 cash prize.

When: Six Saturdays, 10am - Noon, all in 2020
Feb. 1, Feb. 8, Feb. 15, Feb. 22, Feb. 29, & Mar. 7

Final Speech Competition & Recognition Ceremony – Thursday, Mar. 12, 6-8:30pm
Where: Foster City Recreation Center, Crane Room
650 Shell Blvd., Foster City, CA 94404
Cost: Free for all students! 100% financed by OCA San Mateo

Applicants should be high school students who identify as being Asian Pacific American. Applicants must also commit to attend all six Saturday classes plus the Recognition Ceremony and Speech Contest, scheduled for the evening of March 12, 2020.

Applicants must submit a recommendation letter from their school counselor or teacher and their latest school transcript.
